on a V6, when the speedometer goes past 120 & hits its stopping point will it just stop but the car can keep going fastfaster or will it break when it hits that point

 

I dont know of many V6s that can go faster than 120MPH. And I highly doubt that the needle would break, if thats what you're asking.

 

It won't break off. My speedometer in my car is all jacked up for some reason. It just kind of wanders around...it will be pegged out sometimes, and sometimes it likes to hang around 80 mph...then sometimes it will shows as if it's going zero mph...that reminds me, I need to make a topic about that and see if anyone knows what is up with it.

 

Mine has hit the 120 mark but I was going down an expressway with gravity so maybe that's why it kept climbing in speed past 120 lol

 

ive hit 120 on the interstate and even went a lil past that. i think i could go a few more miles past that if i had a couple more things done to my car.

 

did you ever find out what was wrong with your speedometer? mines a '96 3.8l and doing the exact same thing!
