Has anyone taken the power steering out of their car? If so how hard was it?

I've driven my bro's civic and it doesnt have power steering. The only reason I ask is because mine keeps making a whining noise when I turn the wheel and the fluid is topped off and looks fine but I just cant get it to stop. And wont it save me some weight?

getting rid of that on your mustang is going to annoy the hell out of you. Its probably something minor that you need to change, just get it inspected

Go to ur local Car Shop, They should have something 2 help with the whinning..My 99 V6 35th Anvers. Stang does the same thing, I would NOT get ride of your power steering though 1) The weight is not worth it. 2) It will make it alot more diffucult to drive, would be like driving/steering a ARMY TANK...
