There are no intakes made for the 2.3 unforunatly however my friend dylan and I are going to make an intake out of PVC and Dryer duck pipes!! If we get this done and it does make a hp difference i will be glad to send you pics and tell you how to do it.
youre a little behind. i already did that. it did absolutely nothing. i got a performance filter and routed it into the fenderwell and my throttle response did not change one bit.

I just got some good info for you. Try swapping the intake from a 98 ranger. I hear it gives a bit of a boost. I haven't tried it... yet. Personally, I would just do the turbo swap. But then I get the calls from the local yards every time a 2.3T comes in, and it has been awhile. The supply might be dying up. I just got a Tcoupe to rip apart, but I'm keeping all the parts you'll need, sorry.

The exhaust is better routed down the pass. side. This clears out allot of bends and make the underneath a breeze to work on. If you plan only minor stuff the 2.25 is perfect.

a ranger intake is a good idea, but ive heard of it before, and by looking at the pictures, it wont route into the fenderwell, which will just cause it to suck in hot air from the engine. and 2, the way everything is setup in our engine bay, it wont have any support to keep it in the upright position, and it will most likely just start to sag.

i have a 93 stang 2.3L and i bought the 5.0 cold air intake kit and kinda installed it. ummm i also bought the housing for the MAF sensor fro the 5.0 because the 2.3 housing is square on 1 side.imsoon to drill a hole on the pipe to install the thermometer. also i stuck a peice of plastic on the vacuum line to plug it.
my only problem has been idling the car and reseting the computer for it to read the new info being sent by the maf sensor..anyone know wat to do for that?

www.racerwalsh.com Best place for 2.3 performance. I did it to my 2.3stang and it rocks! From turbos, to bored blocks (2.5), headers, pistons too!

Jet performance also sells a chip for the 2.3manual too.

as far as my google search just showed, i don't think 87-89 speed density 2.3's are compatible with those jet chips, only 90-93 dual plug motors

Its been awhile since you've posted it, although if you are still looking for an intake I can sell you mine. I had a 2.3 although I've converted it to a 5.0, I have pictures of the intake on the engine as well. let me know if you are interested.
