I need help with 2 basic things on an 89 hatchback.

1. My headlight covers have water in them and have started to turn yellow. I'd like to remove them empty the water and clean them, but I need to know how to remove them. I know it must be simple, but I'm not sure which screws need to be removed (or if some clamps just need to be removed.

2. Also, my hatchback refuses to be shut completely. The part on the hatchdoor itself that locks around the bolt doesn't easily slide to snap onto the bolt. I've tried putting wd-40 on the latch, but it still doesn't move as easily as I think it should. If I remove the latch and manual slide it on the bolt, it works, but I must press it down hard. While attached to the hatch, when I shut the door, the interior light goes out (so it comes close to closing) but no matter how hard I push down I can't push it down over the bolt enough.
