just to let you know that there are alot of performance parts out there for the 6 banger. all the way from forced air to gears. i currently have ford racing trac loc in the rear end of my car and what a difference wow there is steeda, eibach, bbk, all you have to do is just do a search and you will see a whole new world. did you know that you can use the intake off of a 98 or 99 windstar on your 99-04 v6 mustang it flows alot better. anyways happy huntting.

welcome to the forum

the V-6s are the cheapest and easiest motors to build, and have tons of potential, especially if you plan on going F/I, if you can get one, try and get a 99-04

If you're looking for input on performance and whatnot, I would try to ask some specific questions. There are many options to go when it comes to performance, so anything you're wondering, just ask!

I'm moving your post to the v6 section so you can get some more responses and read up on some tech stuff there.

Stock, they're decent, they handel pretty decently, but if you have an auto you'll be kicking yourself in the ***** in the performance area of the spectrum. Now heres a few specks on 0-60 and 1/4 mile specs on some years for a stock sixer, you decide: 94-98 V6 manual approx 9.2s 0-60 with a really good driver, 16.5 or so in the 1/4, auto 10.1s, 17.1 or so in the 1/4 (just to let you know, mine is roughly 8.4 and 16.2 give or take one or two tenths of a second, oh that's without my gears and t-lok) 99-04 V6 manuals, 7.4 or so, and 15.8 with a good driver in the 1/4, autos 9.0s and roughly 16.3 in the 1/4, 05-07 V6 manuals 6.9s with a good driver, and 15.4 or so with a good driver, auto 7.5s and 15.8-16.2s, driver pending. Hope this helps you make a decision on performance, just to let you know, the average 0-60 for GTs, now this is average, not year based, is about 5.3s 0-60, and 14.1 in the 1/4. See, big difference.

suspension look at www. maximummotorsports.com, they are the best i think. If you want big performance gains look at www.supersixmotorsports.com they have alot of options for big power gains on the six

What all has to be done in order to change the intake over to either the windstar intake or the 4.2 F150 intake?

you have to move the MAF because the truck and windstar TB are located on the front of the engine. will find pic and post

How about you just port and polish the intake, get higher flow heads from supersixmotorsports, and get a mild tune cam, you'll be much faster, and you won't have to worry about those nagging issuses when it comes to going to a 4.2L engine, remember more displacment doesn't always mean faster in the long run.
