i was wondering if the mach system actually does anything or is it just for looks and does it replace the air intake?

are you talking about the CDC shaker kit? if so its mostly for looks, cause you most likely won't be going fast enough for it to do any good.

Not even that much of a gain. IMO, it's not worth the $$$ unless you want it for looks only.
