Default Engine Noise

OK, my engine is making this ticking noise when under throttle. The higher the RPM's the louder it gets. You can't really hear it at idle but once you get around 1500-2000 it becmoes really noticeable. Under hard acceleration you can't really hear it that much, I think because of the sound of my exhaust, but I have also noticed recently that depending on the temp outside and the temp of the engine also will determine how loud it is and stuff. If it's cold and all then it's not as loud as it is when it's hot out. Any idea's on this??

A couple friends said they think it might be a lifter. They said they don't think it's an exhaust leak cuz it gets louder the harder I press down on the pedal. It's def not the tire thing cuz it does it when I'm in N and the car is stopped it does it if I rev it. My dad said he thinks it's coming from the passenger side.

Front. It is def coming from under the hood. It's kinda hard to tell cuz it doesn't really do it as bad as it does when I'm moving but maybe it's cuz when I'm parked I don't just hold the throttle at like 2500 rpm's

check and see if the oil is low, it could just be a loud lifter, but it could be sticking, do you have a stock or aftermarket exhaust though?

Try this...remove the oil filter and dump the oil out. Then reinstall it. Top off the oil with TRANSMISSION fluid. Run it a week or so then change the oil. This is an old mechanic's trick. Tranny fluid is just a very high detergent oil. This will usually clean the system, including the lifters. If it works, you're out the cost of a quart of tranny fluid, and all is well. If not, you may still have a sticky lifter, or some other thing. Also, add a big bottle of Techron to the gas tank in case you have a sticky fuel injector. When you do that, I recommend filling up the tank with Chevron or Shell SUPREME. Both of those already have Techron added, (Shell calls it V Power, but it's TECHRON) and you are giving the system a double shot.
