funny how you mention gas milage, nanaki on here has a blower and gears and gets better milage then most 6ers (in a GT)

NPI stands for non-preformance heads, and is 96-98, PI is preformance improving and is 99-04, in the GTs in midway through 01 they swaped to the romeo block and the T-3650 tranny,

and is v6 bashing really banable now?

personally i would say go with the v6 due to gas but its ultimately ur choice. i kno we all love the sound of the 289 or the 302 but its wether you got the $$$$$$$ or not you can make the v6 faster i would say v6 it dont take much to make these cars faster
Ok..
1. My gas mileage is 23 mpg with plenty of bolt-ons and 3.73
2. He is looking into newer mustangs, which is neither a 289 or 302, those are 5.0 motors...

I say get the car you can afford, I would choose a Gt over a sixer but that is me, both cars have aftermarket for them and can be made quick. But, the sound of a v8 cannot be made from a sixer.

And after all my mods, I was getting just over 24 MPG. So there's not much diference.

Ok, I may be the best one now to answer this. GTs and V6s are very different cars despite their similar looks, sixers handle great, especially when acellerating out of a turn, have decent mpg, and mods are fairly cheap (that's their ups), their downs are that they can be horribly slow stock, "can" get worse mpg than GTs if not well maintained, and is just barely cheaper on insurence coverage than GTs, although the older the car, then cheaper the insurence, so it is possible, like in my case, for a V6 to be more expensive than a GT. GT ups, they're fast, very fast stock, even the older ones will suprise you, get decent mpg for the engine, handles decently, although turns can be a bit trickyer, and for older GTs, mods can be gotten at premium prices, downs, overdrive can be horribly bad if you don't know how to control the car comming out of a turn while acellerating, if not maintained, like a sixer, mpg can go way down, parts are generally more expensive than sixers, and their insurenece is slightly higher. That's about all I can think of right now.
