Default Engine problem

Hey i have a 94 v6 with about 67k miles on it. just got it about 2 months ago n theres a knock. I disconnected each plug from the distributor to see which cyl was knocking and the knock persisted in all 6 attempts. At first i thought it was a rod knock but i thought that because the knock didnt stop when i disconnected the wires it must not be a rod. Anyone know what it would be..how i could fix it..and how much it would cost? Thanx

it`s a rod. it doesn`t matter that you took each plug wire off 1 at a time the rod is still moving when the engine runs and if it`s worn out and loose it will still knock. pull the engine and do the bottom end

yeah thats what i thought ..but could it just be a rod bearing? cuz if it is then maybe i could pull the oil pan and replace it from underneath. save some time and money.

If you turn your car off and the noise goes away, it's in your engine, LOL kidding

It could be your cam also, a good trick is to add motor honey or some kind of oil thickener and see if the noise reduces or goes away. The reason I say this is because we pulled an engine to rebuild it because it was knocking real bad and when we pulled the engine we found a broken engine mount.

engine mount? how would that be anyway similar to the engine knock? and beleive me it only knocks above like 3000 rpm and gets worse when the engine heats up.

ill take ur advice on the oil thickener..thanks

I am a little confused, Knock sound, Or ticking sound? If youre engine is knocking youre engine is on its way out the door, a ticking sound is just needing a rocker arm arm adjustment, if youre saying the 94 stang has lower miles, It sounds weird to have bad engine,

its a knock but the engine is strong otherwise and it has low mileage.
