Default Spring question

I am looking to just lower my Stang just about 3/4 inch front and 1/2 rear, nothing much just want it to sit a little nicer. Can i just cut off part of the spring or will it effect my ride? I am saving up for an sc and dont want to waste $200 on new springs. Will this work or.....

Also, how do i remove the rear springs? I know how to do the front but no the rear ones?

Some people do cut them but I would say don't do it.

Springs are designed to work a certain way, when you start cutting them, they dont work the same. They could wware out faster and may give you a crappy ride.

Yes you can cut the springs, and they'll work just fine, but you will have to get somebody that knows what they're doing to do the job, because if you just run out and cut them in any old way, you'll have problems.

Well you'd save the $200-400 that the springs and shocks cost, but you'll still have to pay for labor.

Well I've heard both ways, but in the old days, how do you think they lowered cars, because aftermarket springs were still just a dream.

Don't do it yourself though, noticed I said get a pro to do it, because if you're off by just a smidge, you'll have problems. Call a few local shops and see what they say.
