Default Peformance Questions, Helpz PLZ!

Hey guys I'm kinda a newbee to all this so i was wondering what exhaust to get for my 02 V6 and get best performance out of it. I went to a shop today asking a pricing on a dual exhaust setup and the guy said 650-700 but if I wanted them to install K&N intake with it it would cost me around 900 installed!, Any suggestions

what year stang? That seems like an awful lot for a dual exhaust setup. I'm looking at a Pypes Exhaust (true dual with catted-X) system for my 6er for $400 at rpm oulet right now.

The CAI is also a HUGE ripoff. Buy the parts yourself and install them yourself. You're getting rapped with labor charges for easy to moderate jobs.

You can get a K&N FIPK2 for around $180.00 and install it yourself. It's VERY simple. As for the exhaust, get 2 ForceFlow mufflers from Summit Racing for like $20.00 each. Then take them to a decent muffler shop and have them do the rest. Your total with an X-pipe will be around $350 or so for the complete exhaust system INSTALLED. Maybe even less.
The ForceFlow mufflers are a clone of the Flowmaster. The sound the same for less than half the price.

Buy the exhaust yourself and install the cai yourself. After the exhaust comes in, it will cost you around $100 for the install. For the best sound possible, get a V6 off road x pipe (has no cats) and a set of Magnaflow GT cat backs. If your state does smog test, then get a catted V6 x pipe, if the Mags are too pricy, then get flowmaster 50s. Pypes, no offence nexmex, sounds just a little too ricy for me.

Flow 40's sound better on the 6er.

dont get the mufflers from summit, jegs is 3 bucks cheaper and our sponsor so you can kill 2 birds with one stone here
btw, both have about a ten dollar handling fee, but jegs still ends up being cheaper
