Default Starter Question

I just put my new starter in my 83 stang 3.8L, I noticed the ring gear looks like a tooth could be chiped, I wondering how hard it is to change it?

Ring gear?
Are you talking about one of those planet gears? Or theres a stationary gear, and in the drive assembly

The teeth on the flywheel are stronger then the starter ones so if something goes wrong you won't **** up the flywheel. Also the ring gear is in your rear end not up there with the starter.

its the the ring gear is the flex plate the little starter gear run onto the ring gear of the flex plate, Just a weird question, What happens is over years the engine heat warps the flex plate and causes the starter gear to not fuction properly. Ive got it taken care of thanks guys.
