Default Heeeeelp. Convincing parents.

I have my heart set on a mustang, the best deal i can find so far in new york/long island is 98 red mustang with 82000 miles for 5500. My mother is under the impression that they are bad cares because -

A: they are american cares
B: they arent front wheel drive (not sure on this one, are they front wheel or no?)
C: She is under the impression they are terrible in anything but perfect clear weather.
D: She has not seen any good crashtest results of them. can anyone give me a chart or something?

Basically can you kind folks help me to convince my parents that a mustang is not a bad car?

Thanks in advance.

A: i dont see how them being american can be bad
B: all front wheel drive helps with is snow but rear still works fine
C: mine only gets loose in the rain if i make it
D: im not sure on the crash tests but ive seen some pretty torn up stangs that people walked away from

hope you can talk them into it, they are fun cars to have.

a.) any 3.8 after they fixed the headgasket in 96 will be almost bullit proof
b.) yes they are RWD
c.) me personally i hate any FWD car, too much torque steer and under steer all the time, i would feel safer driving the stang in the snow then a civic
D.) dont drive like a dumbass

Dude show your mom and dad this thread.
1.) Despite what you may think "AMERICAN CARS" and help build this country, well their manufactures anyway, and IMO they are far better than any import car designed in Japan.
2.) RWD cars have stronger trannys, handle much, much, much, better than FWD, and give the car much greater control in tight situations.
3.) My stang handles extemely well in rainy weather, and it's a 200+ rwhp car, I think that little 110 rwhp V6 won't give many problems as I used to own a 98 V6 and I never got in any accidents and I drove over 40K in two years going back and forth to school.
4.) Mustangs are tops in crash test ratings as they've just about outscored every other car in thier class. Average ratings I've seen were 4+ on a scale from 0-5 with 5 being the best.
******Point is Mustangs are some of the best cars on the road, far better than the Camaro, Firebird, and other pony cars, and they're built Ford tough, and trust me, they'll take beatings that would make some import drivers scared.

ehhh 200rwhp is close, not sure on the +, get it dynod

most maros and birds are the same as the stangs, as long as they arent the 3.4s, the 3.8s in them are the same as the stang, a copy of buicks 231 found in the GN, excepet their auto trannys are alot better

Well I have 225 hp stock, so it's a 5 speed, that's a +, and it has a fairly decent amount of mods, so I'm pretty sure I'm at, or just over 200.[8D]

Well just did a quick search and I'm seeing both numbers, but in anycase, I'm around that, but don't let the low hp numbers fool you, because at the same time, remember that I'm probably around 275+ rw torque.
