I have a Silver 2000 v6 Stang completely stock.. I'm looking to power this baby up but i don't really want the hassle of tossing in a supercharger.. What all can i add to my stang to make it higher performance? Typically how much hp does each item add?

 

Doesn't add any actual hp but you could do gears. There's also exhuast and you can always stroke your engine. Or just swap it out for a 4.6

 

Get all the bolt up mods and rear gears. That will get rid of the doggyness. Then get into some top end mods. Heads, valves, intakes, cam etc. and really wake it up. The 3.8 is intentionally choked by Ford to reduce HP's but if you open it back up 3.8's are a blast.

Out of curiosity how much do the V6 superchargers go for?

 

Unfortunatelly the same as any other. But I bought a new in the box Pro Charger for $2,200.00. I'm waiting to do my top end before I put it on.

 

Cool, there's so many things I'd like to do and not enough money. Could do more if I didn't have to deal with all the snow up here but that might change in a couple years once I'm done with school. Move somewhere without snow and I can just get fun cars not practical ones. I'd really like to build up a 2.3 with a tubo and everything.

 

Im brand spankin new to this stuff. Could someone please explain what each of these mod's are? Or expand a bit so I can do some searches on them. I just got a 97 v6 over the weekend, and I'm surprised at the statement "the 3.8 is intentionally choked by Ford". Im not sure what that means, but I'm going to find out. Incidentally, I also want to power this car up. So any advice along those lines would be appreciated.
