Default side exhaust?

is it true that side exhaust gives you less hp? or what. i see so many mustangs in ceader park were i live with the same after market exhaust. though i havent seen any with side exhaust. i was thinkin one pipe out of each side with chrome twin tip exhaust. what do yall think? oh ya and i was thinking of using flowmaster hushtrust II's. does anybody have any knowledge of how these sound or performe? thanks

duel exhaust on a stock V6 (3.8) will produce less hp and torque due to not enough backpreasure. Add the extra bends of a side exhaust kit, and you will reduce the flow....

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

stupid theory there. a good dual exhaust setup with h- or x-pipe will gain some power on a v6. i would go with a spintech side exit kit for a GT and use MAC longtubes and offroad x-pipe

just buy spintech's kit....its the kit i was going to get but i decided to just dump my stock muffler...you only gain like 5 hp from exhaust and i don't like the way V6s sound with exhaust.....except for the spintech kit....sounds like a G35!....they have a cat back kit and a X-pipe kit with or without kits...check out spintechmufflers.com

ok so spintech has some kits that say xhaust from the y pipe so that means its not true daul exhaust. right? true daul would mean that each header has its own pipe all the way back. correct? anysways wich kit? from spintech?

yeah thats completely wrong. The bends of side exhaust are the same of rear exit exhaust..instead of up it goes to the sides

you want Zero backpressure in an exhaust.

backpressure does nothing but make the engine work to breath which takes HP to do.

why do people think backpressure is good is beyond me
