Clutch or Transmission problem?
I have a 98 Mustang V6 with Manual transmission.
I recently had the whole clutch assembly and flywheel replaced. After this repair, I started having problems getting into 1st gear. The shop said it might be a stretched clutch cable and replaced that. Now it's even worse.
When I'm in 1st gear and starting from a stopped position, the car shakes violently like if a person was trying to start from 5th gear. If I push in the clutch just a bit, it will sometimes stop lugging and shaking. I'm also starting to have problems getting the car our of reverse.
What is the problem? Did the shop mess up? Am I losing my 1st gear in the transmission?

first I am thinking youre shifting rods could be bent, Have you drivin youre stang agressively before you got youre new clutch put in?
Second I am thinking youre clutch bearing release may need replacing sometimes they over look at that.

bottom line is if you took it in for the repair then it started doing this take it back and tell them to fix it. If they're a good shop they'll check it out, if not they may tell you to screw off and say you can't prove it's their fault.
