Default Fuel pump question...

So, I've been looking in some people's signatures, and I've noticed that they're using the Focus SVT fuel pump. Why are you/they using them? And why on a Mustang?

not an expert on FI but ill give it a shot. with FI, im pretty sure that more fuel is being pushed into the engine to compensate for the air that is also being forced into the engine. without a larger fuel pump (the SVT focus pump can push alot more fuel than the stock mustang one can i believe), the engine would run lean or it would put alot of stress on the stock pump, and thats a bad thing AGAIN... im just guessing and im no expert on FI or fuel systems for that matter lol, sorry if im wrong or partially correct.

AIght cool thanks. So would it be ok to use it on an NA, or would it just be a waste of money and a horrible reduction of MPG?

the focus pumps flow 143lph from what ive read. i don't know what a v6 mustang has stock but it could be lower. i do know that adding a higher flow fuel pump when it doesn't need the extra fuel is just a waste. save it for when you have the airflow to necessitate more fuel. if you don't need bigger injectors, you probably don't need a bigger fuel pump
