you'll be lucky if you get $6-8k from a DEALER...sell it privately...the dealer will just rape you and turn around and sell it for 13...the Ford dealer by my house wants $16k for an 02 GT with 52k miles and $18k for an 04 with 45k miles....so good luck with that

+111111111111111111111 You beat me to it!

You won't get 12,000 for it, because the dealership can't sell the car for $14,000 or so and they will know that. These people are trained to make money, what will likely end up happening is them giving you $8,000 and them turning around and selling it for $12,995 or so.

very good advice. Just sell it yourself and buy a vette privately. Go up north somewhere like Michigan to buy the vette, too. It is much cheaper up there for chevys.

Driving in snow will lower the value ...

Thanks for the info guys.

Yeah, I know that 12K is a pipe-dream, but it's my pipe-dream. LOL
I'll probably settle for 10-11 and have the extra k or 2 to pay it off then finance from scratch the Vette. If that is the case I may go as high as 25K total. So a 01 Z may be in my future. Only time will tell. Hopefully the market plays into my hands and I finally get something I really want.

is 9k the KBB trade-in or the private party sale price? there's no way a dealership will give you the sale price on a car. they'd never make money off of it. no matter what car you're going to buy from them.
