How do you handle them? Heres a story. The other night I was tailgated after entering my neighborhood. I was already doing ten over the speed limit because the main road is almost void of traffic late at night. And come on I drive a mustang. I was doing ten over when these a**holes in a silver stratus decides to start tailgating me. They were riding very close. After a few minutes I slowed down to the speedlimit which is 35 and they only rode in closer. Then I shot back up to 45 what I was doing originally. They spead up also in continued following close so I tapped the breaks. They backed off but then drove up even closer and put on their brights. They were so close you could just barely see the top of their headlighs over the trunk and their hood over the spoiler. They had plenty of open lane in the left to pass when no cars were coming. They would get out to the side like they were going to pass but then tuck back in and continue following closely. What the hell was that all about? How do you handle a tailgater?

 

Either punch the brake or go ungodly slow..

 

I would like to let them pass and then shoot their tires out.

 

Here's my view on these situations. When I get tailgated, I always speed up to 10MPH over the limit, if they keep doing it, I usually dont react. I give them oppurtunities to pass, and if they dont, then they have to deal with it. I dont like to brake, I usually downshift, if I feel like it.

Or you could be like my brother and just wait until he has to turn and then SLAM the brakes to the floor. They never lock up on him, and usually the car behind him swerves off the road to miss him. I've been in the car when he's done it before. Its pretty scary, the SUV behind us almost took out a mailbox.

just floor it, if they keep up and a cop sees you hes gonna stop the person behind you since its easier for him. or just keep coming to random stops like your gonna turn then keep going

 

i always SLAM on my breaks hoping they would hit me. because it would be their fault and they would have to pay for a new rear bumper! [sm=guilty.gif]

Yeah, if you have a v6, then just slam on your breaks and BAMM - GT bumper and probably a new exhaust........all because that chitty stratus....

 

SAFE WAY> Pull to the sidewalk and let them go through. Nothing bad, everyone is happy

ANNOYING WAY > Go very slow and **** them off...when they try to get around you GUN IT so they cant, then slow down again.

 

if it was a road with no traffic and it was just 2 cars, id park my car in the middle of the road and go have a "chat" with the other party lol
