Need Door Panel Help
Hi I just picked up a 98 V6 vert. Actually it is kind of a pre-wedding gift from my uncle. Everything is fine with the car except that the passenger side window doesnt work. He said that it might have been derailed or something. I want to pull the door panel off to check whats going on inside. Does anyone have a guide on how to remove the panel?
TIA
TIA
haynes manual for your year will help you greatly, id help but cant seem to find mine, i also have an 04 and im not sure if its the same. You can pick one up at a local parts store like napa ect.
i have a 2000 v6 but im pretty sure that the 94-98 were basically built the same way.... to take off ur door panel you have to take off inside the door the handel where u grab to close the door... there should be a small insert there that u can use something to pry it out... from there ull have to disconnect the window controls. then basically everything will come off all you need to do is screw it off... good luck
i own a 94 v6 and a 98 is basically the same thing. its very easy and i've done it multiple times to replace speakers. all you have to do is when you open the door there should be a small pin type thing that is hidden when the door is shut. you just have to pry that off and then lift up and across to get the door handle off. The whole side of the car basically clips on to the metal its really easy. if something sounds confusing just let me know lol.
just to let you know...when they say door handle they are talking about the plastic piece that the window switches are connected too. the metal pin is on the inside of the door on the part that faces the front of the car. pull it out then like everyone said pop off the plastic piece w/ the switches. disconnect the switches from it and place it aside. there should be 2 screws that were hidden by that plastic piece. unscrew them and then grab the bottom of the door panel and pull up. it will pop right off.
