Are you sure you want a t-lok man? Why dont you save yourself the hassle and go all the way while youre in there in get a LSD. Thats so you only have to go in there one time and save yourself some money in the long run. Whats with people and half stepping when it comes to mods? If your going to go halfway you mine as well do it all the way. Dont think short term (what will satisfy you now), think long term (what will benefit you later).

the t-lok is a ford factory part, not prefrmance part, it was made for 120 hp
Where do you get that info. mines 600, nefers v6 is currently at 350 and holding strong, and he abuses that 6. Dont say "it sucks because of the clutches" because other locks have em too, just stronger

for what $450 or $500 it better be good. But for $100 for a new t-lock that does the same job. T-Locks seem to do the job to more then 300 HP

you are biding time on that 8.8 T-lok which was designed stronger than the 7.5 T-lok.

the FRPP T-lok part# is the same part# for the T-lok replacement in regular ford parts. the 7.5 T-lok was designed for the bronco II with the 2.9 120hp V6 as a limited slip rear option. the spyders are small and are known to break

you think your T-lok was meant for performance??? nope i was designed for F-150 T-lok option. it is stronger than the 7.5 T-lok but it will break

link to a guy running 15 sec 1/4 and T-lok problems
http://www.3.8mustang.com/forum/show...e+differential

i have broke a few 8.8 T-loks on stock 98 cobra power or about 250rwhp. fact is the T-lok sucks ***. i wore out 2 clutch packs in my old T-lok and had some serious chips out of the spyders. the Detroit uses no clutch packs. they use helical or worm gears to engage.

Detroit is $420
T-lok is $180
Detroit is 10X stronger than the T-lok.

you are an idiot if you run a ford 7.5 T-lok with anykind of power adder especially on a 5spd. i have seen personally at least 10 7.5 T-lok take a dump on guy's some get lucky

you don't skimp on building an engine so why put a differential in the rear that is actually weaker than the stock open unit

it is the strongest Limited slip available for the 7.5 out there and well worth the money. why waste money on a part designed to handle 120 hp when you can have a bullet proof detroit

04Mach1dd may have a Mach1 but that doesn't make him an expert on rears.

i have been inside the 7.5 and 8.8 and can tell you that the 7.5 T-lok is junk and you are just installing a grenade waiting to explode inside your rear. yes the 8.8 T-lok is stronger and will handle 3.8's pretty good but can break too. a detroit 7.5 is far stronger than an 8.8 with a T-lok

k, My nefews car that i nuilt, i put everything into. 350+ HP FORD T-LOCK. Has been holding up strong. I worked at alternative auto for 2 years i know my ****. So ask yourself, do you want to spend all this money on a v6 that hit 14's, Or save for a GT or better car. If you do want to keep it, do you plan on dropping alot of money in it, Installation Parts, Supporting parts, or are you just going to give it enough to go when you need it to?
