Take offs are the catback exhuast or, the exhaust components from the catalytic converters back to the tips. For a 6er however, some custom welding would gave to be done since we have a y pipe, to fit a GT take off
very good point and i really do not like them either because of that and the fact they tend to split easliy when expanded out to a perfect circle to make a nice fit with a muffler. BUT the cost effectiveness of GT takeoffs is undeniable. you can score them for $50. add Force proseries mufflers FRC 5201 for $32.95/muffler and you have an awsome sounding exhaust for under $200 including installation that will support a 100 shot of nitrous and only lag about 10rwhp behind 2.5" exhaust with a blower.
as i said i hate GT/Cobra/MachI/Bullet takeoffs but they are very usable on the V6 and are stainless steel albeit cheap stainless
my friend has the take off's off my 02' GT. He has them combined with a "true dual" adapter. It doesnt really sound much different from stock. I wouldnt go this route
