I'm getting a new exhaust on my 97 with a stock V6 bumper, and i'm getting the long stainless steel tips for it. I know the diameter but what i'm looking for is the length in which i should get. I definitely want the longer ones not the short little ones, so if anyone with these or knows what length the ones im talking about generally are can you please speak up. I think I remember hearing something like 18 centimetres long but i would think it would be in inches even though im canadian...

 

i just got 3.5 inch by 18 inch chrome tips. they poke put the back a little but i like that, check the pics on my site to see. i could not get the tips to go back any further as thats where the exhaust bends. from the bend to the end is like 16inches. although i have seen some mustangs with 22inch long straight tips that go right to the back wheels. dont know how they did that though. but yeah the little ones look crappy, thats what i took off and had replaced. & it sounds better now...

 

yes 18 inches in length are the size that you want.
