Default need help

What's up?
I own a 99 V6 Stang.
I plan on doing everything I can to this car, even an engine swap, eventually.

Now I am doing the inside and ran into a problem. I'm trying to change the steering wheel and when I removed the old steering wheel & airbag I discover my Momo hub does not fit. The hub is for Mustang and the only one they make, but it does not fit. The threads match up but there is a black housing with wires for horn and cruise control sticking out of steering column and it is in the way. The black housing looks like it does not come off and the wires don't match with hub anyway.

Does anybody out there have any advice or tips for me???

It's a 99 V6 automatic with airbag and cruise control on the steering wheel...

My only suggestion would be to call the manufacturer. They'll be able to either tell you what you're doing wrong or even give you a refund.

That housing is called a clock spring. It's for the supplemental restraint system. It's not hard to replace, but you're better off to leave it on there. Just send the aftermarket wheel back and leave the car like it is.
