Woohoo. Finally.
I got my new diff put in. I had it done at the first shop I went to before (3 weeks ago). I didnt trust the last shop I talked to with the guy and his attitude. Plus they did not have a good rating on the better bussiness buera. On monday I scheduled the appointment for friday at 9 with the other shop. Dropped it off at 9 and got it back at 2:30. Cost 208.76. It would have been 175 but I didnt bring any oil and they had to use their own (costed extra 13). Im happy. Who's got the champaign? Pop the bottle lets celebrate.
The V6s have a open diff. When theres wheel spin you only get a one wheel peel b/c the diff only drives one wheel. With a Limited Slip Diff it acts like a normal diff in regular driving conditions. But when there is wheel spin the diff locks sending power to both wheels instead of one yeilding a two wheel burn out. This can come in handy if you get stuck because it uses both wheels to get out, giving more traction. Most people do it to upgrade to stronger diff to handle more hp, better for launches, getting power down through both wheels more effectively, and to get rid of that embarrasing one wheel peel. Its sort of a supportive mod for other mods. Im planning on adding a supercharger later and this is one of the things I need.
