Default Remote Starters

Was looking around and thinking about a remote starter. My pony already has an alarm and whatnot, so it'd be just your basic starter. Any suggestions? Can they be used on a stick? Thanks in advance!

Their great to have, it will heat up/cool down your car for ya. Can be used on anything if you get it set up right. Go for it

Most professional shops wont install remote starters on manual vehicles due to liability issues, like if you are one of those ppl who uses the shifter as a parking brake, remote start and into another car/garage/house/ etc. They can be installed with basic hand tools and wiring knowledge, most decent units come with all the color codes mapped out for you, If you car has PATS, It will require an adapter and a sacrificial key or have the PATS disabled Via the computer, just some things to think about, having installed them on my vehicle in the past, I love them, They are a great addition to the vehicle.

How do I know if my vehicle has PATS, and about how much can I expect to pay for a decent starter?

I dont remeber when they changed the keys, but my 99 has a thick head to the key, with what looks like a little door on the top edge of the plastic, inside there is a little glass capsule with a chip and a wound antenna.

I wouldnt put money into a remote starter. Its pointless in my opinion. Get some nice appearance mods instead.
