Default PowerPak

I'm wondering why more people don't go ahead and initially buy a PowerPak from supersix? Even with the $1,725 Stage 2 one it say's you gain 75 HP while consequently improving the engine block which in return would further compliment a change in gears and possible future forced induction. In my opinion a PowerPak for the engine with gears, dual exhaust, pulley changes, CAI and a tune would be more effective than just intalling a supercharger right away. (More effective in terms of price and horsepower gains.) Am I wrong or do you guys agree?

ive wondered the same thing. i dont really see the point in getting all sorts of silly useless bolt ons that wont add much power without extreme mods like heads or boost anyway. im assuming the problem is most people are just eager to get cheap and easy mods on since they dont have a lot of hands on experience, but if they would just save up, they could get a lot more power for their dollar with the big mods. and like you said, if you want more power after the heads, there's always boost or nitrous to top it off.

i also think that supersixmotorsports isnt a well known name to most people. Most people are interested in the 8's. Seriously modded sixes are still rare. They are more and more being built thanx to the new 4.0 though. 3.8 block is still tougher though, haha!!

Better than that, just buy a cam and all the parts needed to up your heads, bring it to a machine shop and have them port and polish your heads for you, and powercoat them chrome. You'll save a little money and get everything done all at once. I totally agree though, but remember, most people can barely afford a cold air intake, so a head port and polish is something that most people can't afford right off the bat.

Oh okay guys, just had to make sure I wasn't the only one who noticed that by doing what I said you'd get a stronger more efficient motor with higher horsepower output.

it's powDercoating, and chroming is a totally different process. you don't need fancy looking heads as long as they flow good anyway, thats what valve covers are for

i would rather paint the heads the stock color so people don't get a hint as to what they are up against. bu the sound kinda gives it away
