Default Shift and stall kit.

So i decided, since i have an auto, i need a shift and stall kit before anything. Do any of you know a place where i can pick both of these up for a reasonable price. And how much would installation be. I work at a ford dealership so I'm pretty sure i can get it for practically nothing, i would still like to know how much everything would be so i know i have enough.

Both can be picked up from summit i believe, the Stall is going to be the converter, gotta yank the trans, the Shift kit involves removing the valvebody from the trans. If I remember right the Shift kit on your trans involves drilling the valvebody, and honestly most dealer techs that I know I wouldnt trust to drill my valvebody, I would leave that up to a reputable speed shop or a trans shop. The converter is pretty straight forward, just need to figure out what level of stall you want. Depends on if you still plan on driving it on the street. Im sure some of the other sixers who have done more to their cars can fill you in more on the particulars.

IF you get a stall converter, go for a 2000 or 2500 stall converter. Still very streetable and good for the power you are making.. The shift kit is a good idea, but you'll want posi and a set of gears as well with teh converter, as it will most likely turn your right rear into a smokebomb without positrac. Personally, i would get a detroit locker posi and gears instead of the shift kit, but id kill for a 2500 stall[8D]

Will a shift kit hurt my trans at all. I read a while back that it will stress out the trans a little is this true?
