so my friend is replacing an OEM chip in his car and idk what the hell that is but it sounds pretty nasty. he is getting an 15-18 hp gain and a 20ft/lb torque upgrade with a $200 chip. is there anything a v6 2001 stang can get for around that price. Any help would be great. thanks

you can buy a diablosport preditor tuner or a sct tuner. both run about 400 bucks and will increase hp by proably 8...that is a real gain. the manufacturer never makes real hp gain statements. they are all too high. they claim lik 20 or somethin but you wont get that much. check out americanmuscle.com for these tuners.

is there really any diffrence between the diablo and the sct? and does one do anything the other cant or dosent, do they both give the same upgrades in power?

SCT is better for dyno tunes and F/I (which requires dyno tune) i would recomend it from vmp cause justin is one of if not the best tuner in the world

so they set the tunes for you then you just plug it in?

Actually neither is "better" for dyno tunes. The flash tuner is only the device used to download the tune into your vehicle. The difference lies in the person developing the tune, and either Diablo or SCT software in the right hands can achieve the same results.
