Default making "functional" side scoops

94-98 models.

I have a 97 V6 and it has non-functional side scoops. I looked at a girl's 95 that i work with and hers are functional. Soooo it looks like it would be fairly simple. Has anyone done it and if so, what was required to do it. I know it wont do anything whatsoever but it will make it look better in my opinion

you do realize the function of side scoops are to cool the brakes? and that asking her would probably be a good way to find out how to do it (unless a previous owner did it)

I asked my buddy what the purpose doing that would serve, and he says that when he is at the track all day his tires will pretty much just "melt" to the pavement, i still think they look alot better. Look on ebay, i have seen them go up once and a while, still cant find one for my body

My 95 has functional, my 98 didn't. It's either just a GT thing, or just a 94-95 thing, either way, I love it.

I have a '96 LX and mine came factory functional. If nothing else you could try your local Dealer to see if they can get the open scoops in.

OK, one more time, THE LX DIED IN 93. The LX came with both a 4 banger and 5.0, it was just a stripped down GT. 94-07 are either a V6 model, GT, Cobra, Saleen, etc, there is no LX.
