Default door lock problem?

ok, its not a mustang, but figured you guys could help.

A friends car key will not go into the lock anymore. It worked fine and everything before we went into a movie, then it didnt work when we went back out of the theatre. It doesnt have keyless entry or a security system.

Has anyone heard of this happening or what to do?

its a 1996 mazda 626.

question did he lock his car when yall went into the theater? I hope so. someone might have been reather stupid and tried eather picking a car door lock or tried a coat hanger.

picking a car door lock, well i can honestly say iv never actually witnessed someone picking the lock, but if so they could have broke or jambed the lock up, replace

coat hanger, well theres lots of wires "sometimes" around the area of the door lock and might have pullyed or knocked the rods out of the hole "never saw a lock on a mustang so not sure".

i say wires sometimes, not sure if he has had power window repairs or not and they tend to leave wires hanging around when they repair inside a door.

good luck

In the other door will open then someone prob tried to pick it somehow or stuck a wrong key in there. If the pass wont open either then id say that some wires got crossed somehow

Yeah, the passenger door opens fine and so she just gets in that way, but it seems like something was stuffed inside the lock oor something because the key won't even go in all the way, it only goes in a few centimeters.

anyone know where we could just get one driver door lock?

try a locksmith or give the VIN to a mazda dealer and they should be able to make a lock that uses the same key.
