I'm buying 2 mufflers right soon after i get this info

Flowmasters.

What size inlet outlet? 2.5 inch?
What about the inlet/outlet placing? I heard they need to be opposite of eachother or something? What if one was in the middle and one was to the side? What if both are in the middle?

And is there anything else I need to know before I buy them?

 

well are you doing a custom pipe....they need to be offset inlet/outlet one on the left one on the right.......stock is 2.25......custom go with 2.5

I have those flowmaster's but 2 of them running stright back, 2 cats on one said and the other 2 on the other side, sounds ok but would it sound better if i had the pipes connected tehn splitting into the flow's? My set up runs stright back.
