What you want is a hand tuner such as Daiblo or SCT. They will allowyou to customize your cars settings and gain some extra go by reprograming your factory ECU. The each come with some preset tunes to make life easier for you.

A few of our sponsors sell them (such as americanmuscle.com), take a look around and if you have any more questions feel free to ask.

The handheld is much better.

Yes you can adjust the tune to your liking when you want. Also the hand tuner will read codes if your car is having a problem.

You have a lot of options, but here are the main three:

Chips - plugs directly into the ecu, benifit, quick hp boost and accelleration boost, downfalls, can not adjust individual parameters if need be as they come with only one preset tune which may be overtuned for your liking, or more likely, under tuned, needs to be uninstalled to reprogramed if you do a mojor mod
Most popular companies: Jets Chip, Diablo Chip, and Sct Chips

Handheld Tuners - plug into the obd II port under the driver side console by the accelleration, benefits, come with several preset tunes that can quickly add hp and accellertion, all of which you can modify the parameters, downfalls, takes a while to upload and download a tune, sometimes can miswrite a tune (not serious, but it does take a few minutes to fix), and while allowing for some decent tweeking, they are rather restrictive on what they can do.
Most Popular: Diablo Predator, SCT X Cal II

Real Time Software Tuning Systems - You have to plug a chip into your ecu and then run a line from the chip that you store in your glove box that you plug into your laptop, advantages: allows for massive in depth tuning, as well as comming with several preset tunes, and allows you to save and use up to 5 tunes which can be swaped with just the turn of a dial that comes with the kit, downfalls, very expensive, and some have a huge learning curve
Most Popular: Tweecer RT, PMS
