ive got the real answer... its because ford didnt make the sixer to be a performance car!! just because its a mustang doesnt mean it should be powerful, many many imports outpower them. if you dont like the low power, get a gt.

they have what little power they do because ford chose to keep the v-6 as the base car, instead of droping in the supercoupe motor they chose to go and market the v-8 because their "big displacement" makes the 90s mustangs about even with split port V-6s

it IS underpowered..mustangs always are underpowered by the competition.
