Hey guys I was wondering if there was a way of taking off the power stearing of my 99 stang? Well I know I have to get a smaller belt for the stang is there anyone who has done this if so can you help me. Well if I have to take the a/c unit off then its ok.

a shorter belt bypassing the ps pulley should work. just as a warning i wouldn't do it because power steering racks have a different ratio of wheel turns from lock to lock compared to a non power rack. this means its gonna be pretty difficult to turn. im not saying you cant cause ive driven a 5.0 with this done, but i dont think its worth the extra difficulty for the small gains.

juggy is very right indeed, the ratio kills, you should have a real manual rack if u want to do this, plus, parking lots are a bitch
