Default Need Help*Cooling system problem

I own a Mustang 1995 3.8 L. This morning after driving for 15 min, I had little or no heat. Yet, the engine temp was at Maximum. When I opened the hood, the cooling liquid was coming out from the plastic container as if there was no tomorrow. The last owner told me that he changes the head gasket so.. I dont know if this could be the problem in this case. Anybody would understand what’s going on here. Thanks.

It was coming out of the resovior thru the top or was there a hole?

either way...NEVER drive your car if it even look like it may go near the red, you can do some serious damage to your engine!

I'd start with the thermostat. It could be that it is not operating correctly which would stop the flow of coolant. How long ago was the head gasket replaced?

It`s not the thermostat because I replace it few week ago, and the gasket have been replaced at 170 000k and I am now at 218 000k

Well I'd do a cooling system check , maybe a system flush to make sure everything is flowing correctly. I know you can get one done at Jiffy Lube for about $50-$60 bucks if you can't do it yourself. I'd check the fan, radiator, themostat and make sure everything was working properly before thinking about head gaskets....

if youre not getting any heat inside the car, and its overheating, it sounds like you definately have something plugged. what often happens is that people who have a small cooling problem continuously dump sealing agents in, and that stuff can make a sort of dam in the system, preventing proper coolant flow.
