Default Tranny

OK, out of curiousity, can someone explain to me making my auto tranny (4R7W0, I think those are the letters and numbers) into a high performance one? I was looking at B&M shifters on Summit. I wasn't entirely sure what to look for.

Now I'm still pretty set on the manual swap, but if I could get more info on the auto stuff, I might change my mind.

People have said something about manual valve bodies. I don't know a lot about trannies, so that means nothing to me. So can someone give me a basic run-down on basically what I'd need to make my auto into one where you shift it and all that?

Thanks, and sorry if I'm rambling and stuff. I'm also falling asleep as I type this, lol.

higher stall torque convertor, talk to cobra232 or hotrods and booze on that one, i dont think anyone else has one on a 6er (i could come up with stuff out my *** to but im not going to, i suggest everyone else do the same) a manual valve body shift kit or a semi manual shift kit would also be good
