Default help! turn signal clicking

Help. When ever I start my car there is a very persistant clicking coming from the dash, around the steering wheel and sometimes the left turn signal is on and won't shut off until I turn the blinkers on and move the turn signal up and down a few times. Lately the clicking continues on and off and getting slower and faster for the duration of where ever I'm going. Yesterday it lasted 45 miles, and its driving me nuts. What's going on with my car? It's getting worse.

The switch might be broken and be getting stuck in the "ON" position for the left blinker. That must be awfuly annoying, huh?

I don't know if that's it or not. I've never had a problem with turn signal and it getting stuck always happens when the car is just started. Someone once told me that it might be my 4 way flasher relay, but I know absolutely nothing of the area, and you know how tight it is to be messing around under the steering wheel!

Yeah, it's a tight squeeze. I adjusted the throttle cable. Took like 25 minutes cause I could only fit one hand in there cause of the brake assembly.

is it just clicking really fast when you put it on and doesn't actually start blinking? just clicks really fast and you have to bring it down and then back up? my 98 v6 did that when the bulbs were goin bad. may have just been a coincidence that it stopped after they were replaced though.

No no, the blinkers work just fine. This clicking sound used to only be when the car was started, and every now and then the blinker would be on also. But lately it's gotten to where when i turn the car on the clicking is there every single time and it continues as I drive down the road. It used to be only a five second sound, and now it's not going away. Tonight the sound seem to be speeding up as I sped up and when I stopped for a stop sign it stopped for a second.
