sounds like a synchro issue, I just got a new tranny cuz i trashed my input, output, and counter shaft, along with 1st, 2nd, and 5th gear. The shop was curious how a v6 did all that damage, but the strangest part is that it happened at 70mph with cruise control on.

Yep, it's the syncros. Not sure what's wrong with them, but I've never had a problem with mine, and it's the old T-5 that likes to fall apart when any real hp is ran through them. It may of been the way they were reinstalled, because if they're not hooked up right, I could see them breaking again.

The T-5 is not a crap trans. Ive seen many people use these trans with 350+hp daily. So lets get off the T-5 bashing wagon!!

Then the dealership gave me 3650 when they replaced my tranny 2 weeks ago, at least that what it says on the reciept. I thought it was a T-5 because I wanted to go with a world class t-5, and tey said it would have to be converted and didn't know what all had to be changed. My info may be wrong, but that's what I have to go off of currently.

Umm.......... yea it is, after 300-350 rwhp, and about that much torque, they get very iffy. If you romp on it a lot, something is gonna go bad because the stock T-5 is built for normal everyday driving. Yes, they can take some wear, but not as much as you would think they should, why do you think so many 5.0L owners swap out the T-5 totally, of do a G-Force T-5 tranny internal parts upgrade. I'm doing my G-Force upgrade sometime this year.
