The only way long tubes leak is if they're installed wrong, just like anything else. Long tubes are better, period. Get a set of MACs with the ceramic coating.

Default RE: short or long headers

I just bought my mustang. I sold my sport bike , needed something more reasonable for work. It is an 02. Now just to have this cleared up, long tubes are better. Now, for the mac products, can I get the long tube headers, the H-pipe, and cat back system? The proper order of the flow is Headers > H-pipe > Cat back?

I know it sounds like a dumb question.. but this is the first domestic I've ever owned. I'm unsure of this H-pipe thing. I assume its the mid-pipe.

I just dont want to purchase products that dont fit together properly. ie) why are the headers 1 5/8" ID, but the h pipe and cat back 2.5" ID? is there a tapered connection between the headers and H-pipe? Will they bolt up? Just to help, so ya'll can see which specific ones I'm talkin about:

http://www.macperformance.com/store/...Product_ID=279
http://www.macperformance.com/store/...Product_ID=306
http://www.macperformance.com/store/...Product_ID=308

Also.. I know ceramic coating is good. But what the hell is HTS?

I am guilty of thread hi-jackage.. but I figure his question got answered and this was a similar topic.

I was under the impression they sucked relatively when compared to SS headers, but.. SS headers tend to outlive your car so Ceramic headers are supposed to be better in a "value" sense. Why pay for the SS when you can have the ceramic they say. SS looks nicer.. it WILL last longer.. but whatever. I just want to know what that other HTS coating stuff is that MAC offers. It's significantly cheaper than their Ceramic coating. As long as my headers dont rust through .. why not get it. But I wanted to hear other's opinions/experiences about it.

don't even bother with shorties. LTs will be fine if you know what you're doing.

They work well cause they're almost exactly the same as the stock manifold. If you want to see improvements go with long tubes.
