I think I know why he wants a V8 so bad.............................It's probably because his military buddies keep getting on his case about having a V6, other wise he probably wouldn't be so determined to do a swap.

your right, a 4000 procharger will NOT let you run with a GT, it will let you run with a mach, IMO 5k for low 13s/high 12s??? > 5k for mid 14s

you got those responses cause some of us actually know what were talking about, and its either to use the v6 thats in your car or trade it for a GT, and you still have to notify your insurance company so they can adjust your premiums, and if you do wreck it, even if its not your fault, its voided, meaning you get nothing, not even for the shell

and as for upgrading, theres a couple of people on 3.8 running lsds (not tloks auburn/detroit) along with a girdle and are fine for the rear, upgrade to a t45 or t3650 tranny? not only are they NOT any stronger then a T-5 but they both suck as well, (my buddies t3650 got rebuilt at 13k on a mach), a 4R70W auto with a jmod will be fine till around 400 rwhp, as for a 5 speed it would need to be rebuilt or upgraded to something like a t56

for $6500 your car can be running 11s, bigger does not always mean better
I can go along with a good part of that, sure you can make the v6 toaste the 8 with less money, all I was saying is if you really like the v8 and thats what you have your mind set on the swap can be done for alot cheaper then what everyone says. And as far as the stock 7.5 rear end not be upgrading, I've seen MANY of those rear ends let go in the mid to upper 300 hp range, so tell me If you were putting out 350rwhp how safe would you honestly feel everytime you really got on it and made that *** end squat down, plus the 200+ you spend on a t-lok, you can usually find an 8.8 for a little more then that anyways

i would look around at some salvage yards and try to find a cheap wrecked gt. then set the cars side by side and just start movin stuff over. all of the rearend all of the suspension...unless you want to lower it then you might as well buy some springs while your at it, ecu, wiring, spedo, engine, trany, driveshaft, radiator, all that good stuff. pretty much just put all of the insides from the gt into your 6.
and to the guy that said the gts come w/ leather interior[&:]wtf man? you could get a 6 w/ it too. they dont come stock w/ that. is an option. \

I'm not going to argue with you or anyone else on the computer, it is stupid and immature. I believe you know what your talking about to an extent (more then I can say for most people around here), however with 8000 post, I feel your more of someone who talks about the cars rather then being one whoactually lifts the hood up and can give first hand accounts.

the T-lok is the only weak spot in the 7.5 rear. if you had alot of experience wityh them you would know that. a 7.5 with a detroit truetrac will hold the same level of power as an 8.8 with the same setup
