dude stick with the six it has so much possibility if u just believe and have the $$$

and if ur going to do the swapthen u have the $$$ but you just got to forget what the people say about the 6 and fix it up and when u can beat a gt with ur 6 you will feel so good when you go to race some one and their like i will race you u only have a six and then you blow their slightly modded gt straight out of the water

$4000 to swap in a V8 that will dyno 220rwhp tops or $4000 to do a procharger on the stoc 3.8 gets you 300rwhp

doesn't seem too smart. swapping in the V8 you will still need quite abit of money to get it to 300rwhp

it's your car but the V6with a bloweris a far better option

I'm not going to argue with you or anyone else on the computer, it is stupid and immature. I believe you know what your talking about to an extent (more then I can say for most people around here), however with 8000 post, I feel your more of someone who talks about the cars rather then being one whoactually lifts the hood up and can give first hand accounts.
that is the only correct post you have done in this thread.

Thank you for all the input. I have decided on the blower. I am leaning toward the procharger and i will tell you what, I can't find one used at all. I don't mind dropping 4 grand on it. But if i can help it i wouldn't like to. Know what i mean. What i don't understand is why are they so different between the gt and v6 versions. Because the gt version are a dime a dozen. What is wrong with the tlok, do you need that if you put in 3.73 gears.

go with a Vortech kit. it us more efficient. a Procharger uses more boost and an Air toAir intercooler to barely beat out the Vortech in power output. if you had the same boost and intercooler on the Vortech, you blow away the Procharger, and it won't eat itself in the process

IMO, i like 4.10s with a centri, i drove a GT with that combo and if it had better tires and some suspention mods it would of been fine

http://www.vmptuning.com/store/index.php? here is the best place for a kit

a tlok has weak clutches and wont last long, detroit true trac and ta rear girdle from here

I have made up my mind. I have been stationed in Iraq for quite some time now with nothing to do other than think about the possibilities for my car. See i have a 00 v6 and i want more power. It just doiesn't seem logicle to me to start with a lower hp platform in the first place. I have looked at every route. Supercharger, Nitrous, Stroking the block, overpriced supersix H/C/I packages. It is going to cost three grand either way. Now i asked a question earlier about swapping engines to a gt and got all those responses. It just makes more sense to me to start with a bigger engine. I can't sell the car and buy a gt but i have money and i want to put it into my car. It seems like modding a v6 is pointless. Say i can get a 4.6L engine including tranny, ecu, wiring harness. Do any of you on here have any idea how much it would cost beyond that point to drop it into my car and what else i would need other than possibly a 8.8 rear end. Your advise is greatly appreciated.
You could listen to all these guys flame you, or you could spend less than $2000 and throw a 5.0 in it. Well, you'd probably need the 8.8 and crap like that, but you'll need that anyway.
