used gears from mps are reliable?
i have used quite a few sets from them with never a problem.

the ring and pinion on the 7.5 is quite strong. i have never seen a blown ring and pinion except for when T-lok spyder gears breakoff and get caught up in them

the 3.73's in my car now have over 150,000 miles on them from an old diesel ranger

thanks for all the responses. Seeing that it would be more than 400 bucks to do it including the install...i have decided not to.

guess ill just invest in some GOOD snowtires. Instead of the crap i have.

you could always try to find a used T-lok on EBAY but the clutches may be worn. stock gearing would be fine but you need the install kit

$70 for a used T-lok on EBAY $90 for install kit and $250 for and install is about as cheap as you can get and it will make a huge difference in the snow believe me. if you still decide not to get the t-lok then get some agressive cheap winter retreads and add about 200lbs of sand or salt bags in the trunk and keep the tire pressure around 25-30psi
