Youll get a lot of mixed replies....Some say yes some say no. I believe its long tube headers that add power and shorty headers, which are the same as the stock manifolds, dont add much power at all

Header wrap is what its called and its to decreases temps under the hood., but most say it does more harm than good because it traps moisture and causes your headers to rust faster than noremal

LT headers give some good 8-10rwhp (good power)

Shorty headers really won't do much unless you have forced induction and a built engine. Stock will give you some 3hp...with F/I I would say about 10hp

from what i have seen dynoed, replacement shorty headers net no gain on a stock or near stock engine.

your came factory with shorties and aftermarket shorties won't give any real gain unless you are running 11+ psi from a blower and even then maybe 5-10 over stockers. LT's are good for 5-10 over stock and aftermarket shorties

Ahhhh............5-10 with LTs, that's a little more believable.

Anywho, I'll put it this way, GTs struggle to get more than 6 rwhp with shorties, so a V6 isn't gonna get much, if anything at all, because stock sixer headers flow fairly well. I only reccommend changng the headers if something is wrong with your stockers.

Check and make sure you actually have headers, because the factory manifolds are made from tubes. It's easy to tell if they are factory, due to the fact that all the primaries are only about 2 inches long. You will get noticable power gains from LT's, and it will become greater as more modifications are done.
