does anyone know how difficult it would be to convert an automatic to a manual. has anyone ever done this?

Your money would better spent on a shift kit and 2500rpm stall converter.

i've done it. it costs anywhere from $600-$1000 depending if you get new or used parts. it's pretty easy just takes a long time.

what if you have a parts car, what besides the tranny, clutch cable, and pedals. what esle do i need off the car?

-clutch cable
-pcm
-wiring harness
-flywheel
-clutch fork
-clutch
-transmission
-shifter
-shifter bezel
-driveshaft
-crossmember
-transmission mount
-bellhousing

Everything you'll need right there.

its alot of work to do, personally i dont think it is worth it because i was looking into doing it to my 5.0

My sisters bf is a mechanic and was going to do the conversion on his '95 5.0L but decided to do a shift kit and stall because it was a lot of labor and parts were going to be 2g. Parts may be cheaper for a 3.8 because they are more common but it is still going to be a ton of work.
