Default Check Engine Light??

Hey guys, i got a 04 v6 mustang convert.

My cousin bought me a aftermarket air filter to put it on my car. We put it on, with out the air flow sensor installed. Now my check engine light is on(obviously) , since then I put the original air filter back in, and connected the air flow sensor. The check engine light did not go way. My question is, will that light stay on until I reset the computer...or should it naturally turn off once the problem is fixed, and if there still is a problem, the light will stay on?

Thanks for the input

Rob

+1

Also, make sure everything is seated properly and the sensor is fully pluged in.

I think if you drive the car 3 times with the problem fixed the light will turn off
