Actually I agree with clif, and I have mac headers and a mac H pipe. I think buying a Y system or putting "duals" with a Y pipe on is a waste of money and time

 

ok if you are going to post sound clips of a mac exhuiast system dont even post green steedas becuz he doesnt just have a catback.....the LTs that he has makes it raspier.....youi can listen to any exhaust clip with LTs with any kind of muffler and it will sound riceyer with the LTs......2nd who care what exhuast system ppl are getting....its not like everyone is going out buying it without listening to sound clips.....i have not heard one flowmaster clip that appealed to me yet every mac does except greensteedas, be4 i bought my exhuast system i listened to eevery single exhuast clip i could find on youtube, myspace, and streetfire....yea mac rusts out but flowmaster rusts too, any exhaust that isnt stainless does....i had a flowmaster on my explorer so you cant say i havent ever heard on in person....and clif have you ever had a mac catback on ur mustang....personally i dont think any catback on a sixers sounds amazing becuz it is a sixer.....everyone is basing it off of a GT sound.....who really cares if you like ur exhaust keep it and dont worry abouyt what other ppl have...but the one sixer that had bassani sounded really good too ........im not totally complamenting MACs becuz ill admit mine buzzes after 3500rpms but other said that will go away......if in a month or two it doesnt go away i mite swap out the mufflers becuz there is nothing wrong with rest of the catback

he said ricier. LTs buzz a little bit more than shorties. but they still sound better than slowmasters any day.

 

Yeah...they do have a bit of a buzz up top, but they sound nothing like a fart cannon.

 

I like MAC it owns everything haha

 

Well I liked the first few sound clips I heard of MAC, but then after I heard a few higher quality clips I quickly changed my mind. Personally I don't like either Flowmaster or MAC, both have serious rust issues, although MAC has made attempts to fix that, both sound funny to me up top, althoug MAC does sound worse up top to me, and both are relativly cheap.

But lets set the record straight.

1.) All exhaust systems running off of stock/shortie headers will give you the same rwhp gains withing a few tenths as V6s just don't respond too well to bolt on mods, like exhaust.

2.) One of our highly trusted vendors, who is a big MAC distributer refuses to sell their exhaust products.......hmmm............ I wonder why, maybe it's because he had MAC headers and they failed on him.

3.) MAC is a cheap exhaust mod, that's why people buy them. Personally I think you should go with Flowmaster, and based off the clips I just heard Force Flows are deffinitly an even better way to go, and they're probably the cheapest to have done.

4.) Don't care what you say, LTs make sixers have a more raspier sound. Every clip I heard that had a sixer running LTs had a very raspy tone.

5.) If I had to rate the most popular exhaust systems for sixers, it would be this:
A.) Borla (all arund great, best upper/lower end tone by far, although Magnaflow is semi close up top)
B.) Magnaflow (nice low end rumble, and great upper end control, doesn't go high pitched like most exhaust on sixers do)
C.) Force Flows (very impressed I might add)
D.) Bassini (very mellow and very high quality)
F.) Flowmaster (great rumble down low, but quality and upper end tone is something to be desired)
G.) MAC (decent down low tone, but it's just too funny sounding up top, and from what I've seen on the forums, quality isn't the best for the long haul)
F.) Pypes (mellow down low, but too high pitched up top, quality also isn't the best)

 

dude i can spin my right rear through third gear stock everything exept oil in it alli got to do is dump theh clutch at 2k and mash the throttle and i can spin up to and sometimes through third so when i get my cat back on your saying ima be able to spin trough 4th

 

you just compared headers to mufflers[&:]. and wtf is up w/ callin flowmasters slowmasters....its gettin old. its fine for a while but it should probably stop.

 

its all a matter of personal pref. yea ppl buy mac cuz it is cheap...i had force flows and i prolly would have went with them but i wanted a complete catback
