Default MAC Revolution?

This has been plaguing me for some time now. There seems to be an uprising in the popularity of the MAC Catback sh*tty, cheap exhuast kit. More and more sixers are reccomending them. And sadly, more and more sixers are buying them. Leaving a Y pipe. Inviting the sounds of mediocracy into their vehicles. And I ask. Why? Why not buy some real exhaust? Is it that hard to find four hours on a Saturday morning to have a muffler shop build you a quality, legit dual exhaust kit? I mean really. That hard? I just want to know what people see in these. Or I should say, what people THINK they see in these sh*t-back exhaust kitsl.

Dude u dont know WTF u just said. MAC is one of the best kits as far as the exhaust goes for a sixer. It gives u noticable power even with a Y pipe system and who really gives a **** how it sounds as long as it gives u performance. MAC catback bolt on system sounds just right for a 6 cylinder stang. What kinda setup do u have?

3: It gives u noticable power even with a Y pipe system and who really gives a **** how it sounds as long as it gives u performance.

4: MAC catback bolt on system sounds just right for a 6 cylinder stang.

5: What kinda setup do u have?
1: As a matter of fact, I do. I typed it. And its quite factual.

2: No it isnt. Its inexpensive. Which is why it is appealing. I do have to give MAC props for one thing though: everything lines up, thats always good.

3: It gives you a slight *** dyno increase. I challenge someone to run their stock 99-04 sixer on a drag strip, install one of the exhaust kits, and then go do it again. Hope you enjoy those 2 tenths.

4: That is all opinion. Ive heard the MACs next to header back fabricated dual exhaust with some sort of equializer. World of difference. Does it sound better than stock? Sure. But it pales in comparison to dual exhuast of the non-bolt on kind.

5: What does Cliffy have? 2004 3.9L V6, dual GT cats, dual Flowmaster Delta 40s, 2 1/4" Mandrel bent stainless piping. Best .6 tenths of my life.

Just know guys, Im not ripping on MAC. Im just trying to understand what all the hype is about. They make good stuff. Not the best, but its good, and well engineered. Like I said, it fits, which is better than a LOT of companies can attest to. I have a MAC CAI in my mustang.

Uhh, most of the people are recommending the MAC GT catback with some sort of crossover. I'm personally against the y-pipe system, no matter what the brand.

And you can't really say any system sounds better. That's entirely opinion. I can say your Flows sound like ****, and there's really no way to convince me otherwise cause it's me opinion.

Exhaust is cheap and compared to other brands its a good quality product. It gives u better acceleration even though its not the best sounding anyway. But ppl like MAC and will keep buying mac therefore u cant do anything about it[8D]. Stick with your setup and be happy

That's the sound tricking you. You're not getting any gains you'll notice in your seat.

There really aint **** tricking me because i know my car, compared to stock, i could actually spin my wheels now without any problems and not have to bounce my right tire thats barley moving. When i installed the MAC i was abled to do a good one wheel peel and notice slight difference in acceleration. I`m not taling about massive differences but there is def some involved. As for Y-pipe system ,yeah it isnt the best but its def way noticable over a stock single pipe setup.

.... i "spin" my tires without a problem... ive only got a CAI...

Does it really matter? I mean with a sixer... buying dual exhaust ur pretty much just paying for a name brand your hard pressed to sound anywhere near a GT... , MACs are "****ty", Mags are loud and annoying, Flows sound raspy.. i mean ****... it doesnt matter the stereotypes are all the same I mean its like CAIs, some poeple buy em cheap off ebay and others spend more money on brand names, yet they both do the same thing... get whatever you think is best decide for yourself, dont let anyone here change you mind, if you hear it and like it, why let someone else tell you your opinion is wrong?

Yeah a Y system isnt gonna sound AS good as a X or H, but other than that with a 6er its basically all the same, they all have the same amount of pros and cons...
