I'm going to the track Sunday to drag and I was just wondering if I should with my car modifications if I would have a chance against random cars.Are there any tips for an automatic?

 

Can you launch? Launching in an auto is easy.

1.) Turn traction control and other accessories like A/C or heater off.
2.) Use your left foot to hold the brake down hard.
3.) Use the right foot to press the gas pedal and rev to about 1500 rpms or so.
4.) When the light turns green, let off the brake and simultaneously ram the gas.
5.) When you are about 500 or so rpms from redline, pull the shifter back into 2 from D.
6.) When you come close to redline again, push the shifter back into D.
