worn shock/struts
i told the performance tech at stangsuspension.com that my car just hit 60k and i have the stock shocks/struts. he told me that my shocks and struts are completely gone. is this true?
yea im gonna swap mines out. i just called ford and for a set of shocks/struts & springs they told me it would cost 482+tax. however i can get a set of tokico HPs and frpp b springs for 429 shipped. so thas how im gonna justify me getting performance suspension when i tell my mom lol.
Shocks/struts are a wear item, so they need to be replaced. The rule of thumb is to replace them every 50-60k miles. Sooner if they start to leak.
As for springs, those will last well over 100k miles before needing replaceing. If your suspension is sagging, that is an indication that your spings needs replacing. Until that happens, I'd leave them alone and save your $$$.
